DECKERVILLE - When Mike Keinath broke his leg playing football for the Deckerville varsity football team, it was an immobilizing injury that would keep him away from his teammates. Merlann Keinath, Mike's mother, decided to do something about that, and a tradition in Eagles football was born.

The Pioneer boys picked up the Harbor Beach Invitational title this past Saturday. It was the team's fourth first place trophy of the season to go along with a pair of runner-up finishes at invitationals and wins in the first two BWAC Jamborees.
