The Sanilac County News Group consists of the Sanilac County News, Jeffersonian, Bargain Hunter, Sanilac Buyer’s Guide, Sanilac County EXTRA, and Home Seekers.

Our main office is located in Sandusky Michigan at 356 E. Sanilac Rd.  The Jeffersonian office is located at 14 Wells St., Croswell Michigan.

 The Sanilac County News publishes on Wednesday and is delivered to approximately 4,975 subscribers via mail, plus an average of  1,625 newsstand copies sold at 76 single copy vendor locations throughout the Sanilac County area.  The Jeffersonian is published Sunday and is a newspaper that is carrier delivered free of charge to 8,190 households in southeast Sanilac County.  The Bargain Hunter is a free “shopper” publication and is delivered to 11,980 households in the remaining portions of Sanilac County not covered by the Jeffersonian, and the Buyer’s Guide is also a free “shopper” publication that is carrier delivered to 21,470 households in Sanilac County.  The EXTRA publishes the third Thursday of the month and is delivered via mail to 18,800 households in Sanilac County.  Our real estate magazine, Home Seekers, is circulated in Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Northern Macomb, Sanilac, St. Clair and Tuscola County, offering realtors a multi-market approach for advertising their listings.  Home Seekers is published bi-weekly, with an average circulation of 11,000 per issue.

The demographic area served by our publications, Sanilac County, has a total estimated population of 44,500, and is rural/agricultural by description.  Nearly 33% of our residents are 50+ in age, while 28.5% are age 17 and under.  The median household income is $33,484, with just 24% of households claiming $50,000+ combined household income.  Just over 25% of Sanilac County households earn under $20,000 annually.  Sanilac County is situated in the “thumb” of Michigan, with it’s eastern border along the coast of Lake Huron, giving several of our small harbor towns the atmosphere of cottage towns of yesteryear. 

Our publications are a longstanding tradition to life in rural Sanilac County, with the Jeffersonian, now in it’s 148th year of continuous publication, the Sanilac County News, celebrating it’s 35th anniversary in 2006, and The Sanilac Buyer’s Guide, now in it’s 38th year.  The Sanilac County EXTRA is the newest addition to our product line going into publication in April 2006.
